How to update your iPad?

To update your device to the latest version of iOS, it’s very easy:

  1. Go to “Settings / General / Software update” on your iOS device: the update to iOS 13 has been available since September 19, 2019 at 7 p.m. (French time).
  2. Remember to back up your data before updating, whether in iTunes or iCloud! A priori, it will go well, but you never know.
  3. All you have to do is let the machine install iOS and you will have a brand new iPad.

iOS 14 and iPadOS 14: Which iPads will be compatible with future OS?

Apple presented the future version of iOS, iOS 14 and iPad OS 14, on June 22, 2020. Scheduled for September 2020, this update will bring, among others:

  • A new translation tool.
  • The ability to choose and adjust your default browser and email.
  • Less precise geolocation, with a view to respecting the user’s privacy.
  • Additional modifications for iPads, adapted to the dimensions and uses of the device (15 models will be affected).

All devices that will celebrate their 5th birthday in 2020 will be entitled to the update. Here is the list of devices compatible with the iPadOS 14:
