The Copa América kicks off on June 13, 2021

The Copa America is the largest football tournament between national teams in South America, organized by CONMEBOL.

While it usually hosts two invited nations, this year it will be limited to ten teams after Australia and Qatar decline their invitations.

When and where will the 2021 Copa América take place?

Like Euro 2020, the Copa América, which was scheduled to take place from June 12 to July 12, 2020, has been postponed to June of this year. This 47th edition will take place from June 13 to July 10, 2021.

Exceptionally, it will be held in Argentina (Buenos Aires, La Plata, Mendoza, Cordoba and Santiago del Estero) and in Colombia (Bogota, Medellin, Cali and Barranquilla), it is the latter which will have the honor of hosting the final. .

The first match will be played between Argentina and Chile.

As previously specified the two invited countries, Australia and Qatar, canceled their visit because of the schedule. There will therefore not be twelve countries but 10 that will participate in the 2021 Copa América.

The competing teams are divided into two groups of five. Here they are :

  • Ecuador
  • Peru
  • Venezuela

Group B

  • Argentina
  • Bolivia
  • Chile
  • Paraguay
  • Uruguay
