This is not exactly the subject of the article, but a few of you have asked us how to disable OK Google, the voice command that launches Google Assistant. Disable this voice command will not prevent you from benefiting from the personal assistant, but you will have to launch it each time you want to make a request.
Why disable OK Google? Because the assistant keeps the smartphone microphone on at all times. It can give an unpleasant feeling to be tapped.
The process is not complicated, here it is:
- Open the Google app.
- Press the three horizontal lines ≡ at the bottom right to access the menu and then Settings.
- Select Voice from the list, then Detect “Ok Google” on the following screen.
- Disable all options.
