Survive in the frozen wasteland of Frostpunk is not a simple task, and it is so easy for things to get out of hand. But if you are here then I know you survived at least 20 days in the A New Home scenario and are ready to take your chances and win The Arks scenario in Frostpunk.

In this scenario, you’ll be in charge of 45 engineers, as they struggle to keep the four seedling arches from freezing. You will have to keep the seedlings warm and the engineers healthy at all times, or you will fail. It is not easy, but it can certainly be done if you just follow these steps.

Find factory plans

  • Step 1 – Build workshops and houses

Right off the bat, you should focus on building two to three workshops, preferably side by side. This will not allow you to do multiple research projects simultaneously, but it will ensure that all of your research will be done at a much faster pace.

Once the workshops are built, it is time to implement them. Ideally, these workshops should always be looking for new things, and the first priority is the tag.

At the same time, be sure to build five tents for your engineers, because we can’t afford to make them get sick. This is something you absolutely must do, as no additional survivors will join your community in The Arks storyline in Frostpunk. You will have a scout, but that’s it. So in total you will have 46 people working for you. That said, you can’t risk killing them.

The Beacon will allow you to send scout teams into the frozen wasteland in search of vital resources for the survival of your community in Frostpunk.

You should still have the scout team exploring the desert, and you should find the lost Dreadnought as soon as possible, because in this area you will find the factory blueprints you need to build a factory.

Why is the factory important? Well, the factory allows you to build automatons, which will relieve your engineers of working outdoors in very low temperatures. In addition, the machines operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, unlike engineers who work from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

So, build the factory and create automatons whenever possible, but keep at least three steam cores in your inventory, so that you can later build the greenhouse and the steam coal mine.

  • Step 3 – Emergency shifts and extended shifts

The first laws you should choose from the Law Book are emergency shifts and extended shifts.

Emergency shifts will allow you to choose when a certain building should operate for 24 straight hours, and extended shifts allow you to change the normal work schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Do not use the emergency shifts very often, as the workers will be very unhappy and die of overwork, but use the extended shift on all buildings, to get more supplies each day.

Other than that, I would say supplemental ration and nursing home laws are also a must, but not necessarily right away.

  • Step 4 – Build and Upgrade

Once you are done looking for beacons, you need to upgrade your workshop to level 2, aka Drafting Machines. This way you can search for more scouts and send a second team of scouts to the desert.

Your next priorities are to research Radiators and Cabins – Radiators to keep Seedling Arks warm and Bunkhouses to keep Engineers warm.

Now you should have the Coal Mine, Sawmill, and Steel Mill in working order. Research and build the Greenhouse and Kitchen, then dedicate the Workshops to the Steam Coal Mine, Steam Wall Drill, and Steam Steel Mills.

Autonomous city

  • Step 5 – Build automata

Once you have created the factory and built an automaton, you will get the Autonomous City quest, asking you to employ two automatons in the coal industry, two in the steel industry, one in the industry. wood and one in the raw industry.

This is where your scouts come in handy. Steam Cores cannot be built, so have your scouts explore from location to location and have them return to town once they discover at least two Steam Cores. Once the vapor cores are placed in your inventory, make the scouts again in the desert.

Complete this quest and you should get a bunch of resources every day.

A good thing to play The Arks in Frostpunk is that you don’t have a lot of settlers, so upgrading their homes is a lot cheaper than in A New Home. That said, increase the level of the workshop until you can upgrade the Bunkhouses to real Houses.

Once done, look for advanced heaters.

Prepare for the storm

In Prepare for the Storm, you will be asked to build five houses, disband all expeditions and outposts, collect 8,000 coals and 5,000 food rations.

The houses are already built, so check that off the list. The next step is to collect as many charcoal and food rations as possible, so if you see that the greenhouse and steam coal mines are not enough, build some additional charcoal thumpers and greenhouses, or even industrial greenhouses. .

Expeditions and Outposts, however, you want to keep them for as long as possible. Check out their locations and how long it would take them to get back to town and send them home with just enough time to get there before the storm hits.

Build enough resource depots to be able to store all the resources you collect, as well as the resources the scouts bring.

Find the way and shelter for New Manchester

The next step involves a scout from New Manchester, who will arrive and ask you to find New Manchester and help him. This will be done in three steps: first, you will need to send 600 steels, 600 lumber and 1 automaton to New Manchester. In the second step, you will have to send 2000 food rations and 2 automatons. Finally, you will be asked to send 6,000 coals and 4 automatons.

Make sure to keep 6 Automatons in your city at all times, so build the additional 7 Automatons needed for this mission from the start of the game.

Additional tips

Automatons should be built wherever possible, so that engineers can stay in hot places. Build at least one medic station from the start, to make sure no engineers die.

Pay attention to temperature warnings as the days go by, that way you’ll know when you can turn off the heaters to save coal, and when you absolutely need them.

Keep important work buildings closer to the generator. These include the greenhouse, medical stations, nursing home and workshops. Houses can be placed in the second row, right next to these buildings.

And that’s how you win The Arks storyline in Frostpunk. It took a lot of trial and error, but in the end I managed to make everything run smoothly. Whatever you do, just make sure that you are collecting resources early on and that you have enough resource repositories to store them. And remember the seedlings need to be warm and not “chilly” by the time the storm hits, or you won’t. get a win.
