By default, computers with Windows 11 enter inside standby, but it can deactivate. Obviously, they enter this mode to save power, which is very convenient in most cases.

However, in many situations we can let the computer work on something, maybe render a video or process anything, and we get up to do other activities while we wait. It wouldn’t be a good idea for me to be suspended and quit our job halfway, would it?

To avoid this, you will have to deactivate sleep mode in Windows 11 and voila, it’s very easy to do.

Disable sleep mode in settings

The first thing we will have to do is start the Windows setup application, for this we will have to press Windows + i on the keyboard. We can also right click on the “Start” button and then choose Settings.

System.

Once we are in the configuration interface, we will need to click on “System” in the list on the left side. Now on the right side we go to “Power and battery”.

Screen and suspension.

Now in the Power and Battery screen we will need to click on “Screen and Suspend”. If our computer is running on a battery we will see a total of 4 options, if it is a desktop computer we will see two options.

If we want to keep our computer awake, in the case of a laptop, even when we are not interacting and using the battery. We will have to go to “On battery, put my device to sleep after” and in the drop-down menu we will choose “Never”.

Here's how to turn off Windows sleep mode

We have to keep in mind that, if it never goes to sleep and we are on battery power, it will continue to consume battery power when we are not using the computer. This means that we will not be able to save the battery.

If we want to prevent it from being suspended when it is connected to the current, then we click on the drop-down menu when it is plugged in and we put “Never” in the option to put it on standby.

Another option we have is to prevent our computer from turning off the screen in any type of situation; by setting the option “Turn off my screen after” and choose “Never”.

Once configured, this window is closed and the computer is already configured to never “fall asleep” or fall asleep. Obviously, we can suspend the device whenever we want by tapping the start icon and then selecting suspend.
