Video has become a big part of Twitter, with occasional users and big brands uploading clips on a regular basis. It is quite easy to watch and share videos on Twitter, but it is impossible to save them on your computer, smartphone or tablet on the platform, so users are forced to find other methods to download their videos. Downloading Twitter videos to a computer is by far the easiest method and does not require installing any additional software.

How to download videos from Twitter on Android

Unlike the computer method above, recording videos to an Android device requires an additional app, but can still be done quickly.

  1. Download theapplication free + Download on your Android device. This app is needed to save Twitter videos to your device for offline playback.
  2. Open the official Twitter app on your Android device and find the tweet containing the video you want to share.

You can also copy the Twitter video link from a browser; the official app is not required.

  1. Once you’ve found it, tap the share button below the video and then choose Share Tweet via.
  2. The + Download app will appear in the list of apps you can share the video with. Press on + Download from the list of apps you can share a link to. The video will be downloaded automatically.

If the video doesn’t start downloading automatically, press the download button. You may also need to give it permission to store videos on your device; select To allow if asked.

How to Download Videos from Twitter on iPhone and iPad

IPhone and iPad owners have to work a little harder than Android owners to back up Twitter videos, and it can be more complicated and time consuming, too.

  1. Download theapplication free MyMedia on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Open the official Twitter app and find the tweet with the video you want to save.

You can also copy the Twitter video link from a browser; the official app is not required.

  1. Tap the tweet to have its text and video fill the screen. Be careful not to touch any links or hashtags in the tweet.
  2. Below the tweet, next to the heart icon, there will be another icon that looks like an arrow coming out of a box. Tap on it.
  3. Press on Share Tweet via.
  4. Press on Copy link. The tweet URL will then be saved to your device’s clipboard.
  5. Close the Twitter app and open the MyMedia app.
  6. Press the Navigator in the bottom menu.
  7. In the field at the top of the application, type and press Go. This essentially loads a website into the MyMedia app.
  8. Scroll down the web page until you see a field that reads ” Enter Video ». Touch this field so that the cursor appears, then touch and briefly hold your finger on it and release to bring up the option Paste.
  9. Press on Paste to paste the tweet’s web address into the field.
  10. Push the button ” Download »at side of the field.
  11. The web page will now reload and provide you with several download links for your video in a variety of sizes and resolutions. Tap the one you want to download.
  12. As soon as you touch a download link, a menu will appear. Press on Download the file, then type a name for your recorded video.
  13. In the bottom menu, tap Media. You should see your saved video on this screen.
  14. Type the file name of your video.
  15. A new menu will appear with a list of options. Press on ” Save to Camera Roll » to save a copy of your Twitter video to the “Camera Roll” folder on your iOS device. You can now open it in other apps just like you would if you had made the video yourself.
