The steps were written for those who are not subscribed to the development channel. The process will help you run the new Windows Media Player on stable and beta versions of Windows 11. Let’s see that.

1. First of all, open this website and select “PackageFamilyName” in the drop-down menu on the left. Then, in the drop-down menu on the right, select “ Fast “. Now paste the below content into the text field and click the Checkmark button.

2. You will now see a long list of files. Right-click on Microsoft.ZuneMusic_11.2110.34.0_neutral_~_8wekyb3d8bbwe.msixbundleand select the option “Save link as” to download the file.

3. Now install 7-zip on your PC. Once installed, open 7-Zip and locate the file you downloaded. Select the file and click on the button Extract.

4. Open the Extracted folder and locate the x64 MSIX package. Select the package and click on the button Extract up.

5. The extracted folder will be moved up. Open the folder, right click on the file ‘AppsManifest.xml’ and select To modify.

6. You must open the file in Notepad. Go to line 11 and under MinVersion = change the operating system version to 10.0.22000.0. Once done, save the Notepad file.

7. Now go back to the previous page and delete these four folders:

AppxBlockMap.xml
AppxSignature.p7x
[Content_Types].xml
AppxMetadata folder

To delete the folder, select the folders and click the Delete button at the top.

After modifying the package, you are ready to install the new Media Player application on your system. Follow some of the simple steps shared below.

1. Open Windows 11 Search and enter Developer Settings. Open developer settings from the list.

2. In the developer settings, activate the option Developer mode.

3. Now open the Windows 11 search and type Powershell. Right click on Windows PowerShell and select Execute as administrator.

4. On the Powershell, paste the command below and press the Enter button. This will completely remove the existing Groove music package.

5. Now move to the folder where you extracted the MSIXBUNDLE folder and open the x64 folder. Right click on the file AppxManifest.xml and select the option “Copy as path”.
