Check all installed Windows updates and patches

Before working on updates and fixes, it is best to know what is currently going on with your system. You should already know about all the patches and updates installed on your system. It will also help you check for updates throughout the wake process.

Then search Updates installed in your search in the taskbar. Tap the first result. The Installed Updates window will open from the Programs and Features section of System Settings. You can minimize it for now and then move on to the next step.

  • Now that you have installed the NTLite just check the Start NTLite checkbox and press To finish.
  • As soon as you open the tool, it will then ask you for your version preference i.e. free or paid version. The free version is suitable for personal use, however, if you are using NTLite for commercial purposes, we recommend that you purchase the paid version.

  • The next step will be extracting the files from the actual ISO file. Here you need to go to Windows File Explorer and then open Windows ISO file. Right click on the ISO file and choose Rise. The file will be mounted and your computer will now treat it as a physical DVD.
  • Now just copy all the required files to a new directory location on your hard drive. It will now work as a backup if you make a mistake in the following steps. You can also use this copy if you want to restart the processes.
  • Now go back to NTLite and press the ‘Add‘ button. From the drop-down list, tap Image directory. From the new drop-down list, choose the folder where you copied the contents of the ISO.
  • Now press the ‘Select folder‘to import the files.
  • Once the import is complete, you will see a list of Windows editions in the Image History section.
  • You must now choose one of the editions to modify. We recommend that you accompany the Home or Home N. The only difference between Home and Home N is actually media playback. You don’t have to worry about it. But, if you are confused, you can choose Home option.

  • Now a pop-up will ask you to actually apply the pending changes. Press on Yes to to confirm.
