Statues are a new feature in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Statues can grant players a unique buff. This buff will increase the chances of specific types of Pokémon appearing in Pokemon Hideaways. Let’s see how you can improve the potency of this effect.

Each statue you add to your base will add points to the statue’s effect. The type of Pokémon with the most points will be the type chosen for the effect. This is because you can only increase the respawn chance of one type of Pokémon at a time. So how do you know how many points you get per statue?

It is not necessary to know exactly how many points you are getting. You just need to know how the rating system works. A Pokémon statue will give you points based on the Pokémon hit. The primary type of the Pokémon will always give more points than its secondary type. For example, Charizard is a Fire Flying type, so he gives 48 points to Fire and 24 points to Flying.

The number of points that a statue gives also depends on the stage of evolution in which the Pokémon is. The evolutions of the first and the second stage give less points than the evolutions of the third stage. Another factor is whether the statue is shiny or not. You only get Pokemon Shiny statues from Gorgeous Boxes, and they look green instead of gray.

Shiny Pokémon statues will give double the points that normal statues give. So if we look at our Charizard example again, a Shiny would give Fire 96 points and Flying 48 points. If you wanted to increase your chances of finding Fire Types, you would prioritize Shiny Fire Pokemon at any stage of evolution and then normal third evolution statues.

The statues that give by far the most points are the legendary Pokémon statues. You get them by capturing Legendary Pokémon in Ramanas Park. If the Legendary Pokémon has two types, then it will give points in both categories. Again, primary typing will give more points than secondary typing. If you want to know all the values of each statue, you can take a look at the full list.

Now how can you tell how powerful the total effect of your statue is? Well if you interact with the orb on the front of your base the game will tell you with the text and icons. If you look at the icon under Stattoo effect you will see that there is one or more arrows on it.

With an arrow you will have text that says Slightly lift, with two arrows the text says Increases, and with three arrows the text says Strongly increase. If you want to know the exact numbers, lift slightly is 1 to 300 points, lift up is 300-720 points, and strongly increase is 720+ points.

Be aware that statue effects won’t force Pokémon to spawn in areas where they don’t normally appear. You always have to go to the right biome to get the Pokémon you want. If you need help finding where a Pokémon spawns, check out the community resource for that.

With the one and two arrow boost, you won’t notice much of a difference. However, once you press the strongly increase three arrowheads, there will be a noticeable difference. You can use this statue effect to find an elusive Pokemon or if you want to hunt Shiny for something rare. It is important to know that the statue effect has no impact on Shiny’s chances.

This is how statues work in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. With them, you can search for specific Pokémon types much more easily in the large basement. Hope this guide has helped you and stay tuned for more Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl guides!
