Initially, video streaming services were not compatible with Google Assistant smart displays. Since then, things have changed. From now on, it is possible to enjoy Disney + on your Nest Hub or similar device.

Here, we’ll show you how, including the added voice command functionality. Thanks to your voice, you can launch any movie, or cartoon, on your screen.

Download Disney +

To stream content to your connected screen, you will first need to install the app Disney + on your smartphone or tablet.

Once you are up and running, make sure you are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and tap the icon Google Cast to select your screen. Note that this may include your TV or other compatible devices.

Use voice command

Casting has always been an option, but it’s only recently that Google has added the ability to play Disney + content through voice control.

From a simple “Ok Google, play the Mandalorian on Disney Plus“, you can launch your movie.

However, for this to work, you will first need to link your Disney + account through the Google Home or Assistant app. To do this :

  • Open Google home on your smartphone.
  • At the top right of the screen, sign in to your account.
  • Make sure your devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Return to the home page, then press Add + and on Videos and photos.
  • Press on Associate.

You just have to follow the login steps with your Disney + credentials.

As of this writing, Google is gradually rolling out this feature, so you may also not be able to take advantage of it just yet.
