What do we do when Apple AirTag not working? When this happens, we will just have to follow these tips to resolve any kind of issue you are having. Whatever type of problem you are facing, these solutions can give you the peace of mind you need and, most importantly, get your AirTag to work.
Solution: AirTag is not working
Obviously when you have a device, whatever it is, the simple fact that it does not work is not acceptable. AirTag like any other can fail, but luckily there are plenty of ways to fix the vast majority of these issues.
Enable two-factor authentication
In order for AirTag to connect to our iPhone, it is necessary to enable two-factor authentication. To do this we need to go to Settings> your name> Password & Security and here we will need to enable two-factor authentication.
Don’t use a Managed Apple ID
To use AirTag, it is essential that we do not have a managed iOS device. For those who don’t know, schools or colleges can create an Apple ID for students to have quick access to education. They are unique to each organization and are not the same as standard Apple IDs. To understand how they work, it’s ideal to visit Apple’s support website.
Activate Find my iPhone
Basically, we will have to enable the Find a location option in the device settings. To do this, we will have to go to Settings> your name> Search> Find iPhone. We activate the option and that’s it. The Apple AirTag not working issue should be resolved.
Activate and deactivate Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and mobile network
In many cases, just turning these features on and off can help solve a lot of problems. To do this, we need to enter the configuration options of our mobile phone in the sections corresponding to Wi-Fi, mobile data and Bluetooth.
Turn location services on and off
In Settings> Privacy> Location services, we’ll be able to turn them on and off. After that we will have to restart our device to associate your AirTag.
Reset network settings
It is essential that Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and mobile data are working properly for AirTag to be able to do this. So if we have any issues, it is possible that by resetting the network configuration we can fix them.
For that, we will have to go to Settings> General then we will choose “Reset”. Now we are going to have to click on “Reset network configuration”, after which we enter the password of our device and we give it again to reset the network configuration.
Factory reset almost always fixes most issues for many devices, including AirTag. In order to restore it, we will need to remove it from the Find My app. So we open the application and go to the “Elements” tab.
After that we will have to choose the AirTag we want to restore; Next, we will swipe up to access the AirTag configuration and click on “Remove item” at the bottom ”. To finish, click on “Remove” again.
Update iPhone software
If after trying all of these solutions you are still having issues, we may choose to check if our iPhone or iPad has any pending updates. For this we will have to go to Settings> General> Update software. If ever available, update immediately.
