While Google Docs is great for document sharing and real-time collaboration, it lacks a feature that lets you add captions to images. If you’ve encountered this problem while doing your homework or homework and had to open a different editor, we’ve got good news. 1. Use the drawing function

To access the function Drawing , open the menu Insertion , then click Drawing > New . This will open a window that will allow you to create a new design using shapes, captions, lines, or arrows, among other tools.

Now you need to insert the image. You can do this by copying a URL or uploading it to Google Drive from your device or account.

Once you have downloaded and resized the image, click on the icon Text zone in the top menu and add text. You can move the text using the tool. Selection .

  1. Open menu Insertion , click on Board and select a grid size of 1 x 2 .
  2. Drag and drop the image in the top cell.
  3. Enter the caption in the bottom cell and use the features of Google Docs to edit it as you like.
  4. Right click on the table and select Properties .

3. Use an add-on

How to use Caption Maker to speed up your editing:

  • If you need to insert captions in a specific part of your document, select that part and click Define the legend before clicking on Subtitle . Or you can select the part where you don’t want to insert subtitles and select Turn off the subtitle .
  • If you need to create a list containing the captioned pictures or tables, select List of images or List of tables . Additionally, if you need to refresh these lists, click Update lists.

Add captions effortlessly

If you’re making changes to a Google document that you don’t want, tap Ctrl + Z to cancel them. You can also access File > Version history > View version history to restore an earlier version.
